Buying astronomy kits are a major rip-off as most of the equipment is glass made and costly however you can reduce cost buy going in for a cheaper version and then after your child knows how to use it you can go in for the expensive one.

There are also kits that contain apparatus that are handy if your child wants to try his hand at designing experiments based on the principles of magnetism, semi conductor devices, uniform circular motion and mole concentration. There are telescopic kits that enable your child to view faraway objects more clearly thus bringing him/her closer to the world of optics.
Thus it’s a safe assumption that there are age specific science toys that are made for every level of childhood. Educational toys should stimulate the mind of the child to be effective.
